Vice President and Chief Quality Officer, New York-Presbyterian Hospital
New York-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City is affiliated with two Ivy League medical institutions, the Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons and the Weill Medical College of Cornell University. Dr. Cooper has been the hospital’s Vice President and Chief Quality Officer since 1998, and is responsible for quality, denial management and documentation improvement, health information management, quality research and oversight of the Six Sigma program.
Since 1990 she has worked in a variety of positions in the quality arena. Dr. Cooper received her medical degree from the Temple University School of Medicine and her degree in health law from the Pace University School of Law, and practiced internal medicine for 10 years prior to moving into administration.
She has authored multiple publications regarding quality and health service delivery, and has served as an investigator on a number of grants for quality and health services delivery. Her interests are health policy and shaping the quality agenda.
